Arsenal In The Hunt To Sign 22-Year-Old French Defender
Arsenal face tough competition from Man United in pursuit of Jules Kounde. The two PL heavyweights have also received a boost in the race to sign U21 France international, with Sevilla slashing their asking price to €60m…..Arsenal In The Hunt To Sign 22-Year-Old French Defender
Jules has set the stage alight since arriving at La Liga giants from Bordeaux in the summer of 2019. Now one of the best defenders in La Liga, Kounde has become an ever-present at the back for Los Nervionenses, raking in 38 games across all tournaments so far this campaign.
His incredible progress at Sevilla was bound to get noticed sooner or later and sure enough, several top teams around Europe have been closely monitoring him over the course of the campaign. As things stand, Gunners and Red Devils are hot on the 22-year-old centre-back’s trails.
Indeed, the Spanish manager has the likes of David Luiz, Gabriel Magalhaes, Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers in his squad currently, while William Saliba and Konstantinos Mavropanos are out on loan. Having said that, it has been claimed that Calum could be offloaded this summer, while Mavropanos has no future at Emirates.
Add to it the blow-hot-blow-cold nature of David Luiz, who is also on the wrong side of 30, and it is not hard to see why Mikel would want another defender, which is why they have been linked with N’Dicka and others. Frenchman is also an option worth considering for Gunners, who, along with Man United have been handed a boost in his pursuit.
