Arsenal In Tussle With Their City Rivals For La Liga Wing-Back
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Lucas Vazquez.
Both London sides will be desperate to strengthen this summer amid underwhelming seasons, though more so in the case of Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side look set to miss out on European qualification ahead of next term and will need to vastly improve ahead of next campaign.
Meanwhile, Spurs are still in the battle for Europe but have underperformed considering the strength of their squad and the excitement that surrounded the club ahead of this term with the return of Gareth Bale.
Spurs also purchased Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid ahead of the current season, and they are already being associated with bringing another player from Los Blancos.
According to AS, they could make a move for the experienced Lucas, who is out of contract in June after spending his entire senior career thus far at Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old star, who is currently out with injury, is understood to have rejected the offer of a new contract at Santiago Bernabeu, causing Arsenal and Spurs to come sniffing.
Though, the Gunners are also said to hold an interest in the attacker with Arteta keen to add more creativity ahead of next campaign when Martin Odegaard could leave.
