Barcelona May Allow Full-Back To Leave As Part Of Deal To Land Arsenal Star
Junior Firpo’s Barcelona career has not exactly gone according to plan. The gifted left-back was brought from the fellow La Liga side Real Betis as a big reinforcement and someone to rival the Spain international Jordi Alba’s undisputed starting position…..Barcelona May Allow Full-Back To Leave As Part Of Deal To Land Arsenal Star
However, for many reasons, Firpo was not able to adjust to the Catalans’ style and is spending most of his time on the bench.
Not only that but it does seem like Junior could be on his way out of the club in the coming transfer market.
On that note, a report from football.london states Barcelona could be looking to negotiate an exchange deal with Arsenal.
In that scenario, Junior would move to North London and a familiar face in Hector Bellerin would come back to his former team.
Arsenal’s full-back is, according to the same report, ready to leave the Gunners and could find his way to Spain.
Hector was also close to leaving last year when he had been mentioned with Paris Saint-Germain but was then persuaded by Edu and Mikel Arteta to stay at Arsenal.
Now, however, the situation has once again changed and he’d be open to leaving, as would Junior, in fact.
The Gunners’ interest in Blaugrana’s left-back is also nothing new. Arsenal attempted to get him on loan in January but Junior was adamant on staying at the Camp Nou.
With both stars keen on a move and both teams showing interest in each other’s defender, a swap deal could indeed be on the cards this summer.
The summer transfer market is rapidly approaching and the aforementioned players could very well be one of the stories to unfold.
