Things at Camp Nou are not what they used to be years ago, but that does not mean that the club will not try to lure talented players to their training ground despite the ongoing turmoil at Catalunya.

REPORT: Real Madrid Midfielder ‘WANTS’ Chelsea Move

With up to eight Barcelona players set to leave the club, the Catalan side needs reinforcements for next season. Most of those will have to be approved by incoming coach Ronald Koeman, and according to Le10Sport, the first one of those is one of Koeman’s compatriots.

The French website has stated that one of Koeman’s petitions to boost the team’s midfield will be none other than Donny Van de Beek, one of his pupils with the Dutch National Team and a former Real Madrid target. With Arturo Vidal, Ivan Rakitic and possibly Sergi Roberto leaving the club, Los Culés need new blood to boost their squad, and Van de Beek would fit the bill just fine.

Added to that, Van de Beek would once again team up with Frenkie de Jong, and he would also increase the Dutch tradition at Camp Nou that includes players such as Patrick Kluivert, Marc Overmars, Michael Reiziger and Ronald Koeman himself.

The move will reportedly become the first order of business for Koeman once he is appointed as coach, and his term could not start in better terms if you consider how Los Culés would steal the player away from Real Madrid, a team that courted Van de Beek for the past two transfer windows without any success.
