Chelsea agreed personal terms with 35-year-old Brazilian centre-back
Thiago Silva will have a medical at the London giants on Thursday ahead of a move to Chelsea, reports say. Brazil international will arrive in London despite PSG attempting to hijack the deal at the last minute. Silva’s relationship with Parisians sporting director Leonardo has deteriorated and the defender wants to move to London club. Brazil international will become Frank Lampard’s fourth summer signing and the ‘final touches’ on the deal to bring him to London club have been agreed.
Blues have already signed Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Xavier Mbuyamba and Thiago could spark a flood of incomings at the Blues. Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz is on the verge of joining the London club, while the Blues are also pushing to complete a deal for Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.
Thiago played his final game for the Parisians in the UCL final and won seven La Liga trophies with the French side. Frank Lampard has targeted a huge overhaul of his squad this summer after managing to guide the London club to a top-four place in the PL.
Milan are in negotiations with Blues over a loan deal for Tiémoué Bakayoko. However, Thiago’s fellow Brazilian, Parisians sporting director Leonardo, does not share Tuchel’s plan and wants Silva to leave. Relations between Silva and Leonardo had deteriorated, prompting Silva to want a fresh challenge at Chelsea in the PL.
