The Moroccan star has turned heads in Serie A this campaign playing for Inter this season following his permanent transfer from Real Madrid, after two impressive seasons on loan at Borussia Dortmund.
However, the Italian heavyweights are struggling financially, partly because of the current pandemic, and as a result, could be open to cashing in on the 22-year-old after 12 months.
Indeed, according to The Athletic, the Nerazzurri have failed to pay the first €10 million (£9m) installment of the €40 million (£35m) fee due to the Spanish giants, with the deadline being put back until March.
With finances so precarious, the club could be open to selling, and reports suggest Achraf could be open to a Premier League transfer. Inter are believed to be prepared to accept a fee in the region of £40 million.
There are two sides linked with an interest from England, with Chelsea and their city rivals Arsenal both having previously kept their eye on the player.
Both outfits have been long-term admirers, having allegedly kept tabs on the full-back before his successful loan spells in the Bundesliga.
The former Los Blancos ace has made 20 appearances for Antonio Conte’s team this term, netting six goals in the process.
Since his San Siro move, Hakimi has been used more predominantly on the right-flank side of midfield, pushing further forward than his favourite right-back berth.
