The 28-year-old defender’s contract at the Allianz Arena will be no longer valid from the beginning of July, and it looks increasingly likely that David will be seeking pastures new for the 2021-22 term.
A number of sides, including Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, are said to be interested in landing the defender.
Meanwhile, a recent report stated that Alaba is on the verge of being offered a bumper contract by Manchester City to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium.
However, according to Sky Sports News, Thomas Tuchel’s side are also firmly in the hunt for the Austrian, who has scored twice in 24 matches for the European champions this campaign.
The nine-time Bundesliga winner is currently free to enter into talks with foreign clubs as Alaba has entered the final six months of his contract with the German heavyweights.
In other news, Barcelona are looking to land a left-back with Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso on their radar.
The Camp Nou club are making contingency plans should second-choice Junior Firpo, who has been linked with a loan transfer to AC Milan and West Ham, leave before the end of this transfer window.
And, according to Mundo Deportivo, an out-of-favour Chelsea star is being considered.
The role of any new acquisition in the left-back position would be as back-up to first-choice Jordi Alba.
