Crystal Palace Interested In Signing 21-Year-Old Chelsea Midfielder
Crystal Palace are reportedly eyeing up a possible transfer swoop for Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher. The 21-year-old has been on loan at West Brom this campaign and perhaps looks unlikely to get into the Blues starting XI any time soon, so a permanent move away from Chelsea might make sense as the next step in his career.
Crystal Palace are among his admirers, with Conor possibly set to be cleared to leave his current club for just £9m this summer. The report suggests the Eagles are expected to move for Gallagher, so this sounds like it will be one to watch in the weeks and months ahead.
Blues supporters won’t want to see a promising academy footballer leave after the success of the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James, but Gallagher seems some way behind those footballers. Crystal Palace would do well to sign Conor if potential and add to their midfield options for the next campaign.
Roy Hodgson’s side are looking at Sheffield United’s John Lundstram in that position. Chelsea came head-to-head with Atleti in the UCL, a perfect chance for the club’s scouts to have a close look at the Spanish giants’ players and how they measure up to the footballers already on Chelsea’s books.
