Manchester United would allegedly consider appointing Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sacked in the near future……..Italian Tactician Could Move To England With Man United Keen On Him
Ole is under serious pressure at Old Trafford after a miserable start to the new campaign, which has seen the club lose two of their opening three fixtures.
Their latest setback plunged his long-term future at the club into serious doubt, with United conceding four first-half PL goals for the first time ever in a 6-1 hammering at home to Tottenham.
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has often been mentioned with the United post, especially after his departure from the north London side last year.
But according to The Transfer Window podcast’s Duncan Castles, Massimiliano would also be a candidate to take the reins should Ole fall victim to the axe.
While the ex-Juventus chief has not yet been approached by United, it is said he would be in the running to replace the Norwegian along with Pochettino.
Allegri has been out of work since departing Bianconeri in the summer of 2019, having guided the Italian sid to five consecutive Serie A titles and two Champions League finals.
He also guided Serie A side AC Milan to league glory in his preceding four-year spell at the San Siro.
It remains to be seen whether United part ways with Solskjaer, although Duncan insists there is currently a “discontent with the club and the manager”.
Star midfielder Bruno Fernandes allegedly ripped into the United boss and his team-mates during their hammering versus Spurs earlier this month.
According to The Mirror, club match-day officials saw Bruno storm down the tunnel and then shout in the dressing room: “We are supposed to be Manchester United!”
