But following several weeks of negotiations, Marc opted not to sign a new deal with Blaugrana, which paved the way for his exit. Red Devils were quick to make a move for Jurado and the defender travelled to England on Wednesday morning to finalise his switch to Man United.
Red Devils are due to pay a €1.5m training fee to Blaugrana, while the right-back will be allowed to begin training with his new club after his two-week quarantine period is over. In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, Marc posted a picture of his departure gate at Camp Nou airport with the caption: ‘A new dream is coming’.
After confirming his departure from Blaugrana, Marc said: ‘It’s never easy to leave a team that has given you everything. Barca has been my second home, my second family, where I have developed as a player and as a person. We started as boys who just wanted to run after a ball and I say goodbye, nine years later, calling them friends.’
‘Today it’s time to say goodbye, but not before expressing my gratitude to each of the people who have helped me since I started in the prebenjamín in the year 2011. I have been lucky to share my passion with a fantastic generation, with which I will always be linked.’
