Man United Determined To Sign 23-Year-Old Serbia International
Man United have stepped up their efforts to sign Nikola Milenkovic in the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have initiated discussions with agent Fali Ramadani over signing Nikola, who is valued at €35m by Fiorentina. Milenkovic has come leaps and bounds since joining the La Viola from Partizan Belgrade in the summer of 2017.
Over the last four years or so, Serbia international has gone on to become a mainstay at the back for Fiorentina while also impressing with his ability to essay different role in defence. The 23-year-old defender has turned out 124 times for the La Viola, even chipping in with 11 goals and an assist in those games.
His progress has alerted several teams, particularly in the PL, with the Red Devils being the notable suitors in his pursuit.
Man United are reportedly ready to enter the transfer market for a defender this coming summer, as they seek a long-term partner for Harry Maguire. Victor Lindelof has improved with every passing game this campaign, but the fact that he has been dealing with a chronic back issue has meant that his minutes have had to be managed.
In addition, Eric Bailly has also struggled with several issues over the course of his time at Old Trafford, whereas Axel Tuanzebe has also been unavailable for large periods at a stretch, meaning it is imperative for Red Devils to bolster the heart of their defence in the summer transfer window, with the Serbian being identified as a target.
Apart from Nikola Milenkovic, Alessio Romagnoli, another Serie A defender, has also emerged on Man United’s radar and it has become clear that they are set to prioritize a defender this summer.
