Man United started negotiations with €50m-rated Italian forward
Man United failed in an attempt to add Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, according to reports. The Norwegian boss is desperate to bolster the right side of his front-line and has made the addition of Jadon Sancho his top priority for the transfer window.
But Bundesliga giants have stood firm over their €120m asking price and England international now looks on course to remain with the German club for another campaign. The Red Devils have been exploring alternative additions to Jadon and have targeted Ousmane Dembele and Watford forward Ismaila Sarr.
But Red Devils have also made an approach to sign Italy international, however, their offer was rejected by La Viola. The report claims that the Red Devils wanted to sign Federico on loan for the campaign. But Chiesa is now believed to be on the verge of joining Juventus on loan, with the Bianconeri having an option to buy for €50m.
Man United have held negotiations with Porto over a deal for defender Alex Telles but an agreement over a transfer fee has not yet been reached. The Red Devils are also exploring the possibility of signing Edinson Cavani on a free transfer, but Uruguay international is reportedly demanding at least a two-year deal.
Man United are also hopeful of landing a new forward and a defender before the window closes. Red Devils retain an interest in taking Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele on a season’s loan, however, manager Ronald Koeman wants the World Cup winner to stay at the Catalan club.
