The 27-year-old star joined Dean Smith’s side on loan last year and has been a regular during the 2020-21 season, making 19 appearances, contributing three goals and one assist in the process.
Ross was an important player for the Villa in the early stages of the campaign but has mainly been used off the bench in the latest weeks, having fallen down the pecking order.
According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, Smith’s side have already informed Thomas Tuchel’s team that they will not be looking to sign the Englishman in the upcoming market.
The report adds that Villa have been unhappy with some of the west London heavyweights-owned attacking midfielder’s off-the-field activity, meaning that he doesn’t have a long-term future at the club.
The London Stadium outfit are reportedly keeping a close eye on developments as the club weigh up a summer bid.
Elsewhere, Eintracht Frankfurt are in discussions with Chelsea for Ike Ugbo, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The forward is currently shining on-loan in Belgium’s first tier Jupiler Pro League with Cercle Brugge, where he has netted 16 goals in 33 games.
Italian journalist reports the Bundesliga side have jumped to the front of the queue chasing Ike’s signature.
Negotiations have now opened up between the two sides about a permanent deal for the young attacker.
