Chelsea are desperate for a new left-back this transfer window and are expected to be priced out of capturing Ben Chilwell.

Lampard told the Blues board to make the Leicester star their top target for that position but the Foxes are demanding £80m.

That has forced the west Londoners into considering other options and Reguilon has impressed Lampard and his staff.

Deal Close: Chelsea Agreed Deal With Leicester City For England Defender

The 23-year-old has spent this season on loan to Sevilla and has helped them reach the Europa League final, where they take on Inter Milan tonight.

The Spaniard was expected to return to the Bernabeu to challenge Ferland Mendy for a starting sport next year

However, Spanish publication Sport claim Zidane has told Reguilon that he will not be part of his plans moving forward.

That will be a huge boost to Chelsea as they can strike a bargain and bolster their defence.

But Lampard’s side may have to battle Paris Saint-Germain for Reguilon’s signature as the Champions League finalists are also said to be interested in completing a deal.

Reguilon was asked about his future ahead of tonight’s showdown with Inter and he said: “I don’t even know where I’m going to play next season.

I have no idea, I have to assess all the options that we have on the table.”

Discussing the final, Reguilon added: “To be in the final you have to do a lot of things right and few things wrong.

“Inter is a hard-working team, it’s going to be a very tough final. But Roma came after eight games without losing and we beat them. You can’t judge things by just one game.

“There will be a lot of pace and focussing with specific players is a mistake, although Lautaro [Martinez] and [Romelu] Lukaku are very good
